Hutt Valley Towing — Wellington’s Extended Region

The Hutt Valley — encompassing Lower Hutt City, Upper Hutt City, and surrounding communities — is served by Towing Wellington as part of our wider Wellington region coverage. The valley's geography creates specific towing considerations: the tight SH2 corridor through the Hutt Valley, the Remutaka Hill at the valley's northern end, and the eastern harbour communities accessed via the winding Bays Road.

Lower Hutt — Hutt Valley’s Main City

Lower Hutt is the Hutt Valley's primary commercial and residential city, home to Queensgate Shopping Mall and a large commuter population working in Wellington. The main commute routes — Hutt Road, SH2 through the valley, and the Petone motorway interchange — generate consistent breakdown activity particularly during peak commute hours.

Petone is a historic waterfront community at the entrance to the Hutt Valley on the SH2 corridor. The Jackson Street heritage precinct and Petone beach are local landmarks our operators know well.

Upper Hutt — Gateway to the Remutaka

Upper Hutt is the Hutt Valley's northern city and the main gateway to the Remutaka Hill on SH2. Vehicles with any mechanical concern should be assessed before attempting the Remutaka — a breakdown on the hill is significantly more complex and costly than a breakdown in Upper Hutt itself.

Trentham and Silverstream — Upper Hutt's southern suburbs — are also regularly served by our Hutt Valley collection team.

Eastern Communities — Wainuiomata, Days Bay, and Eastbourne

Wainuiomata is accessed via the steep Wainuiomata Hill Road — one of Wellington region's most challenging urban roads. Towing a vehicle from Wainuiomata requires appropriate equipment for the hill descent. We carry this equipment as standard.

Days Bay and Eastbourne are eastern harbour communities accessed via the winding Bays Road. These areas are relatively isolated by road — our response includes the Bays Road transit time.
